After EMG information
After your EMG testing, it is not unusual for you to feel sore over the testing areas or even notice a temporary increase in your pain. Some bruising may be noticed as well.
To treat these symptoms, you may place an ice pack over the sore area for 15 minutes at a time and you can do this up to 4 times a day. You may also take an over-the-counter pain reliever such as Tylenol (if not allergic) if necessary. Any soreness or pain will usually resolve in 2-3 days.
Contact Dr. Campa's office (505) 508-1543 if the above symptoms do not resolve or if you develop fever during the first 3 days after the procedure.
Please feel free to call us at any time with any additional concerns or questions you may have about your procedure.
